How to use Zoom - CalU's video meeting and conferencing service

Within our learning management system, Desire2Learn/Brightspace, is Zoom, the built in video conferencing system. Zoom can be very simple to use but also has robust features. Zoom meetings can be 1 on 1 or 1 on many. It also allows for participants to text chat, ask the presenter questions, vote on topics and share computer screens. To help those of you that are interested in using Zoom, I have created two tutorial videos. In the first video I introduce Zoom, show you how to set up your account and how to join a meeting.

The second video is targeted to those of you that may create and host meetings. The video begins with a demonstration of the mechanics of creating a meeting and inviting participants. I also show you some of the options for setting up the meeting including allowing (and not!) participants to utilize these features during a meeting. Each meeting is different and you may want to limit participants' abilities depending on the audience. Zoom is pretty cool as it allows a lot of functionality for the meeting host such as screen sharing, showing slides and allowing for quick polling. Check out the video for more information.
